Emma Backer invites you to her gallery opening on Thursday, April 28th from 7 - 9pm showcasing photographs created in tribute to Yves Klein and his color blue.
On May 19, 1960, The French Patent Office issued Patent Number 63471 to Yves Klein for his invention of a new paint mixing technique. This patent inadvertently led to the invention of International Klein Blue (IKB) a color that Yves Klein built his career around and artists and brands have referred back to ever since. Emma was inspired not only by Klein’s ability to successfully work with one color for an entire career but also the strong emotions that the textural elements of his paintings evoke. Emma’s series of photographs are meant to elicit that same reaction. www.rabbitholeprojects.com

Although blue is considered one of the most popular colors, it is considered one of the least appetizing. Some weight loss plans even recommend eating your food off of a blue plate.
"A certain blue enters your soul. A certain red has an effect on your blood pressure."
